Mars Bar bread!!!!!

+ We took a lovely long walk along the Estuary.  The little pink ferry across the River Hamble is so cute and fun, operated by a more mature gentleman who looks through binoculars to the other side of the river to see if there's anyone waiting for him.  If you stand by the Ferry Shelter, or sit on the bench beside it, he won't come!  The sign implies that in the past there had been a great deal of confusion about who needs a ferry and who's just having a sit down...
Just take note of what time it is and what time the ferry stops because we didn't and we had a (wonderful) long country walk back!  It's so light so late here in the summer that we got confused.

+ We paused for drinks at The King & Queen Pub.  There was a tv inside showing the F1 qualifying which made me super happy.  Their chalkboard in the beer garden made me chuckle.

+ Dinner at The Jolly Sailor in Bursledon.  If you're veggie, they do a lovely falafel and halloumi burger!  The decor is cosy in winter, the beer garden by the river bright in summer.

+ If you know someone who works at Bedales School, ask them to bag you some Mars Bar Bread!  The girls boarding there make it every Friday morning.  It's even better than it sounds.  Especially if you cover the non-chocolatey bits with butter!!
